the weekend on erdman avenue in east baltimore. there's a map of the area. sherrie johnson joins us in the studio with more on the police investigation. >> reporter: good morning. witnesses saw the body flip several times before hitting the ground. 25-year-old gerard grant leaves behind two young daughters. police say there's significant damage to the driver's side of the black mercedes. officers say it was not road rage. neighbors tried to perform cpr but grant later died at the hospital. >> i just want to say to whoever the person is that did this, i just need to you come forward. a dad is gone, a close friend of mine is gone. and he will be missed dearly. >> reporter: police say the black mercedes has significant damage on the driver's side and the mirror is missing. anyone with information is asked to call the accident investigation unit at 410-396-2609. in the studio, sherrie johnson, abc2 news. >>> we have another motorcyclist dead after a crash in glen burnie. this happened at the intersection of solley and nabs creek roads before midnight saturday. according to authorities a

and 95 corridor looks good as well. megan, back to you. >>> this video was sent to us by one of our viewers. it's fueled by high winds. firefighters really busy before 11:30 last night, putting out this apartment fire. this is the corner of charles street and madison avenue. no one was injured in this fire. but firefighters had their hands full last night and this morning there's going to be a lot of clean up after about a dozen homes caught on fire in different locations all fanned by high winds. more than 100 baltimore city firefighters were working these fires. even crews from howard county had to come in to help. the fires were in the west baltimore area. you can see a map of the area we are talking about. linda so is live with the latest. linda. >> reporter: like you mentioned, it was a busy night for firefighters, not only here in the city, but firefighters from surrounding counties were called in for help. here in the city alone, more than 100 firefighters were required to battle a number of fires that were fanned by those gusty winds. fast moving flames tore through almost

. abc 2 news linda so joins us with the latest on the investigation. >> reporter: megan, a woman was found dead in that apartment but police don't know at this time how she died. they say her injuries were not related to the fire. investigators are trying to find out why a man who was also found in the fire is in critical condition. the victim's mother told us her daughter divorced the man but he became homeless and she was helping him temporarily. had he a history of a bad temper. the victim had four children ranging from high school to as young as 6. the man, we're told, is the father of the youngest child. the fire broke out yesterday afternoon in the 6000 block of majors lane in jeffers hill. a neighbor called 911 after seeing heavy smoke. none of the four children were inside the home when the fire started. now they are left to mourn the loss of their mother. >> and just to see him sobbing like that, to just know he doesn't have a mother! sad. very sad. >> police have not released the man or woman's identities. both are believed to be in their 30s. at last check the man was
